AGAIN!! You do not need to buy "Nike Plus" shoes, I just use a pair of New Balance I got from boot camp and slip the sensor between the laces and the tongue, make sure it will not fall out. I will be buying some nikes soon.

And I just hold the actual Ipod while I run, or put it on a clip on my waste band.

And yeah, your are right Group9. It is not GPS, but still tracks every aspect of your run.

I just got the Nike + for my ipod and did my first run tonight. I ran with my housemate who doesn't run, so it was a bit slow for me, but for a test of the system, its awesome.

Any of you still run, and what groups? I'd love to get a group together to keep me pushing, ya know, that competitive nature :D

About how much does Nike Plus cost? I have a nano and I run quite a bit actually...

Do I just buy a special pair of running shoes or?

yes, it only works with the nano.

The only problem is that you have to run on Nike's. If they made this for Asics or maybe even New Balance I would consider. Nike running shoes all seem too heavy and/or too not breathable. Besides my heart rate monitor does enough. Not as much as Nike+ but enough for me.

When I used to run without Nikes I just put the sensor between the laces and the tongue of the shoe. It works exactly the same as if it were in the sole of a nike shoe.

The kit costs 29.99 and the sensor battery life lasts for 2000 miles.
