For most of my life, I've struggled with exercise induced asthma. I thought I was not athletic, even though I was good at sports that didn't require running a lot. But for police explorers, I have to run 2 miles to graduate this year, which came as a shock. Last Friday in gym, I had a terrible attack just from running 1/2 mile.
For the last 2 days, my mom, who used to run 14 miles a day, started me on an amazingly easy, but effective plan. I live in a suburban neighborhood, so I use mailboxes to count this. I'll run for one or two mailboxes, then walk for one mailbox. I end up running 1.5 miles, and after only doing it for two days, I already am starting to run at least a mile without feeling any pain.
So, if you struggle with exercise induced asthma, give that a try.
I'm 6' 3", 14 y/o, approx 200 pounds (haven't checked in almost a year :D), and oh yeah, I have no arch in my feet, size 14, so that doesn't really help my running very much.
