Final PT stress
Alright, here is what happened to me today. We had our last pre-test for our final PT exam on April 11 in my academy. The last time we had a pre-test, I did wonderfully, completing the 1.5 mile run in 11:06, 66 push ups and 57 sit ups in one minute. This is great for me. Today, after having about one month off of PT due to defensive tactics, we took the test again. My 1.5 mile dropped to 12:10, with the requirement being 11:58. My push ups fell to 55, and my sit ups to 48. I'm more concerned with my run, which dropped drastically, as did everyone else's. It could have been due to the atmosphere, which was incredibly dry and hard to breathe in.
All excuses aside, it is now crunch time. With only one month left in the Academy (22 academy days) I have got to bring my self back into my comfort zone. Does anybody have any suggestions as to how to do this? I am only 12 seconds off, but when it comes time for the test, I need some play room. Should I run longer distances, sprints, or a combination?
(And, FWIW, I still ran when we didn't have PT, but only on average of once per week.)
Thanks for the help!
