Not having been to an academy, you have to take this for what it is - if you're not living at the academy, I'm pretty sure you can do whatever you want, but you're gonna want time to study, prepare your clothes, etc...plus, with the PT you do in the academy, you could probably lay off the weights until after you graduate. If it's live-in, I have no idea.
When you wish upon a falling star, your dreams can come true. Unless it's really a meteor hurtling to the Earth which will destroy all life. Then you're pretty much hosed no matter what you wish for. Unless it's death by meteorite.
My academy had a weight training day every other day. One PT day would be running and calisthenics, while the next would be weight training. However, it did absolutely nothing. There were 70 people working on a limited group of machines. By the time the session was over, you were lucky if you adaquetly worked out one muscle group.
You can probably find some free time in which to train, but you would want to make sure you study and prepare for the academy as well.
Hope that helps.

The bad guys trained today. Did you?

Ours did almost daily. A part of the 4 hour block would be defensive tactics and the remainder would be a workout of some sort. We had it setup like curcuit training. Do your hour in the weightroom, then off to the track for a few miles or sprints, burpees or something excruciatingly painful. We were also expected to workout off the clock as well.
Thanks for the answers guys.
