That sounds fine... what is your expectation? Increasing your bench just takes a little dedication in the gym, but 210 isn't a bad bench.

There is nothing wrong with your size, but I question your confidence.
Relax you are a good size boy, hell you are bigger than me.
But Officer, I didn't think pretty ladies recieved citations!!!! They don't lady, please sign here and press hard, it's four copies
thanks for the fast responses helps alot.
If you're concerned with being strong then the bench press is the last measurement I would go by. It's one of the most overrated, overused exercises out there.
If you want to get REALLY strong then you should focus on your squats and deadlifts. If you can't squat at least twice what you bench then you are way out of balance strength wise.

Here in PA to be accepted you have to be able to bench 93% of your body weight, run 1 1/2 miles in 13 minutes, sprint 300 meters in 62 seconds, and do 35 situps in a minute. I would imagine the bench for you would be the easy part. make sure you get enough cardio into your workout, doesn't matter how much you can bench if your heart is weak.
I wouldn't worry about your size. I saw a video clip of a police officer who was 5 foot nothing and made a traffic stop when the driver of the vehicle, who was a former boxing champ, decided to take on the officer.
Needless to say the officer held his own and took the perp down. So I guess size doesn't matter (thats what my wife tells me anyways  )
That officer got his *** handed to him. The perp kept coming for him after being shot. After seeing that video it reminded me of why I still go to the gym and train so hard all the time.

Only two cops I know are physically amazing. One of my explorer advisors, who is approx. 6' 4" and strong, and a K-9 Officer/Teen Police Academy drill sergeant who is normal height and muscular.
I'm 14, 6' 3", and in May of 2006 I weighed 208 pounds, and I haven't seen a scale since. I probably should.
My benching isn't all that amazing, but there have been times in school that, to prevent me from going crazy and getting an assault charge (which, honestly, nearly happened last year), I use a self defense move that doesn't take very much strength.
I don't believe you have to be a physical superstar to become a cop. You should be in shape, and be considerably strong, but your tools, your backup, and your training will help.
I'm not an officer, but I know that the self defense I learned in the teen police academy HAVE kept me out of fights. Well, I've actually not, thankfully, been in any fights this year, but the training helps a lot.
Sorry for the long story about myself, but you seem to be well off.
hahaha cagefighting ftw
There are a lot of cops I know who are either short, skinny or all of the above, but are vicious pitbulls when handling themselves on the street. They can talk themselves or people outta situations and their presence alone in intimidating.
You cant solely rely on strength as your indicator for a good cop. HOWEVER, you need something to back you up when the SHTF. Strength isnt completely neccessary if you can fight the fight. If you can only bench 140lbs but fight like your life depends on it without giving up, then thats all that matters.
