    Which is better for me?

I apologize for my post-whoring of the PT forum. But ya gotta do what ya gotta do.

So today I tried something new. Stew Smith a former Navy Seal and fitness guru wrote an article and included a workout called a "spartan run." It was Run 1 mile, 50 pushups, 20 squats and 50 crunches 3 times. You added 25 crunches after every mile. Well today I attempted this run. I completed it, but I felt as if I got a more thourough and complete workout with my usual regimen. Which is as follows

    3 mile run
    200 pushups (sets of 50 and 25)
    50 squat thrusts
3 sets of 20 four count mountain climbers
200 jumping jacks Sets of 50 or 100(its impossible to look cool while doing those)
    Various lunges and squats etc

Is it better to combine those workouts into a spartan run, or keep them all separate?

Thanks for the information for which I am about to receive. haha

It's generally better for you and easier on your knees if you don't run every day. Our PT sessions usually go: MON-WED-FRI-SUN run 4 to 6 miles in the mornings, and lift weights in the evenings. The other days we'll do the pushups situps ect.ect. If you run every day it is VERY hard on your knees and hips you may not feel it now but you will in a few years. We do also mix in pushups ect. in the middle of a run sometimes it does give you a "more complete" workout.

Oh yea, I agree. I dont go running everyday. I was just asking about this particular workout which I do about 3-4 times a week. Other times Ill mix in regular academy type PT and weight training.

This sounds like a good workout for me actually. I hate cardio, but make myself do it. A change has been needed for awhile, and I am gonna try this program for a bit.

Since I am in the academy again training a new dog, I get plenty of cardio all day long. However, I will want to do more once I get back home, and adjust to the old schedule.
