    Do you get a break?

I posted the message about the 300 meter dash and how I was having trouble with it.

Did anyone take a pre-agility test recently? I'm just wondering if they give you a break between the 1.5 mile run and the 300 meter dash...or do they make you do the 1.5 mile and go right into the 300 meter dash when you're done? It's going to be hard to go right into the 300 meter dash if they don't give you a little break...

It all depends. I took a Phys test where they ran the 300 and then the 1.5 after. But, there were over a 100 people in groups, so you had sometime to relax. Most of the time the way the Phys test goes here in IL is this:

    Sit and Reach
    Sit-ups
    Bench Press
    1.5 mile

The 300 meter isn't very popular in this area. I've only had one test out of 10 so far that has that as a requirement to pass. But it all depends on who's giving the test as far as how things go in order. Good luck and don't fret to much about it. Your adrenaline will be going, and if you dont make it, use it as a bench mark as to what you need to work on for the next test.

I recall on 1 set of physicall requirements I looked at that there was like a 15minute break between the sprint and the long run. That may be different between departments but I would think they would give you some time to cool down.

    Cooper fitness test

It sounds as if your test is based on the Cooper system. There is a website for them that describes how the test should be administered (and I think there is a break between the exercises). This website won't let me post the link...but it is at cooperinst.org/shopping/lawstand2.pdf

i went through one two weeks ago. we got about 10 minutes between the 1.5 mile, and the 300 meter run. i used my 10 minutes to jog all the way back to the car to get my water bottle that i forgot to bring to the track. :(

it sucks, but really, the 300 meter is not that hard. you just push yourself to get through it, and it's all over. my body was screaming at me to stop, but i kept on running.

the one i just took was based on the cooper standards.
