    Florida highway patrol test

My PAT for the FHP is comming up on oct 25th. I'm sure the course is somthing that I can handle but I have a problem. The paperwork said since I am 6'1" my max weight is 209 pounds. I would consider myself pretty healthy. I play soccer once a week, tennis a couple of times a week and I have been doing alot of running. I currently weigh 231 pounds. For me to loose 22 pounds in less than a month would be unhealthy but if thats what I have to do to get a job I'll do it. Anyone have any advise? I would appreciate the help.

unhealthy??? ehhh not really. Depends on how you go about it. 3 lbs a week at 4 weeks in that month means 12 lbs. Yeah its alittle excessive to lose 22 lbs in a month. But, if you want it man go for it. Its going to take one month of hard training followed with PERFECT proportioned meals.

What's your body fat percentage? While they may have a height/weight requirement, if you're muscular that means that you're probably going to be outside their standards. They should also have a body fat maximum for these people, even though it may not be published on their website.

Im currently applying to becoming a Florida State Trooper also, as far as i know that there is an exception to the height/weight requirment, lets say you were over the requirements but were muscular. A note from your doctor would exept you from the restrictions. But me im 6' and 220. Ive only got to lose around 15lbs. Thats pretty easy for me. But i say workout as much as you can because the academy is gonna be like army boot camp. Get ready now

    update

I went to the hospital this morning because I was so sick I couldnt get out of bed. They pluged an IV into my arm and filled me up with 2 liers of fluid. They also gave me a persrciption for vicodan and some type of steroid. I also was given a perscription for an antibiotic.
My testing is in less than a month and some agencies do the drug testing on the same day, will any of these cause a problem?

The good news is that three days in bed not eating caused me to loose 9 pounds.

Just make sure you let them know you were hospitalized and were given the meds. They might want to see the prescription Vicodin.
But when a long train of abuses and usurpations, pursuing invariably the same object, evinces a design to reduce them under absolute Despotism, it is their right, it is their duty, to throw off such Government, and to provide new guards for their future security.

Translation for the intellectually challenged: If the government screws the people too much, it is the right and duty of the people to revolt and form a new government.
