Music won't be with me when I'm in a fight.

I happen to be a superhero. Noy one of those wussy superheroes that has big muscles or fast legs, I am so much cooler than those jokers. My superpower is my own theme music, that and animated sounds but for the sake of this thread we will focus more on the music than the animated sounds that are, by the way, super cool. I have a preset playlist for everything so that when I start doing something - my theme music plays. It comes in handy when chasing someone cause I will start to hear Maiden's Paschendale or Run to the Hills. I wouldn't trade my music for any of those other wussy superpowers either. Who needs big muscles and fast legs anyway.:p

I'm going to say it again like I've said it before, Shania Twain. Even though I said that I don't listen to music while I run, my Shania is always with me in my mind saying "one more mile (or set) and I'll be waiting for you...".

Motivation can't get much stronger than that. ;) :D

See, and with us people don't fight very often so I'm always hoping they will to break up the bordom... what I do is anytime things heat up I start humming a tune in my head then by time the fight actually starts I've got a full blown soundtrack playing in my head while I'm stomping the persons brains out their ears!!!

Of course I should mention that I have a couple "disorders" so I hear my whole life soundtrack... and voices... and my dogs talk to me.. :D

Oscars, you listen to talk radio while you run?!?!

On second thought, that might not be a bad idea. If I listened to Dr. Laura while I ran, I might run faster just to try and get away from her voice! :D

Absolutely! I get the Coast to Coast AM podcast onto my MP3 player and run with it. It's easy to get lost in the conversation and nearly forget that I'm running. If the last show wasn't very interesting, turn on METALLICA!!!

I would like to have one of those guys I saw in a commercial once.

I can't remember what the commercial was for, but does anybody remember that commercial where a guy is running along a sidewalk, then out of nowhere a guy runs up next to- and alongside of him with a boombox, playing "eye of the tiger"... the runner shoves him down then walks back like "I'm Sorry" then they go running again...

    Anyone remember that?

Why is it that all these jerkoffs seem to know about the right to remain silent, but I have yet to find one of them to actually exercise that right. -Legoate

Anybody remember that Nike commercial where the guy goes and kisses the big guy's girlfriend and then runs away? That could be good motivation...

Anyway I have a variety of workout music... Just last night I was listening to Daft Punk... I also like Metallica (Whiplash is the climax of my run)... Sometimes I have soft lounge music when I go very long distances at very long times...

He's right. I was never trained 'how' to run like someone on a track team would be, but I can say the fastest I ever ran in distance was when I was in a formation but not thinking about 'running'; All I was thinking about was getting to my destination. We all ran as fast as we could, and it just sort of fell in place. Some people I know can just run like a horse, I can not. The funnest runs I ever had were with groups singing cadences.
