    Lower body stretching

    I'm having some issues with stiffness after my lower body workouts, particularly in the quadriceps. I believe the problem lies in my pre and post workout stretching routines. Is there any stretches for the quads specifically that you would recommend?

    yea....take you leg and bend it behind with the opposite hand and have your heel touch your butt. This will stretch out the quads.

    Static stretching prior to workouts has been shown to cause more harm than good. You need to do some mobility drills to get the body warmed up. There is a great DVD on the subject called Magnificent Mobility. Do a search.


    Usually before I go to bed I'll do some foam rolling and static stretches to keep things loose. These are done every night.

    Also, to speed recovery 2X a week I'll do some light GPP stuff.
