Need to develop a PT regimine

Hi yall. I am one year away from graduating with an Associates
Degree in Criminal Justice and would like to start training this
    summer. I currently weigh anywhere btw. 255-260lbs @ 6'2. I
have always fought my weight, but now finally am doing something
about it. Last year I lost 60-70 pounds, and now it seems I have hit a
plateau so to speak, and am staying in the weight range listed above.
I want to lost another 40-60 lbs this summer, trim up, gain muscle,
work on my 1 1/2 time; basically the whole nine yards. I did no
football or athletics in school, and have little knowledge on how
I should start out. Any help on a PT regimine for a guy my size
would be greatly appreciated. Hopefully there are some LEO's on here
my size, so that I wont feel totally out of place. Thanks yall.

weight loss is primarily diet-based. you can do all the cardio in the world and you'll get results but in order to keep it up, you'll have to continue increasing cardio. do you track calories? if not, you should start. easier to make changes to your diet to accomodate your goals if you know how much is going in. to give you a rough estimate, your daily calorie intake should be around 3,315 (your bodyweight [255] x 13 calories per pound for cutting). cardio should be secondary. do you currently life weights?
Some people get lost in thought because it's such unfamiliar territory. -G. Behn
