I totally agree with Valor about the chiropractor.

Several years ago my mom was told she needed back surgery to alleviate the severe pain she was experiencing. She opted to try a chiropractor instead...and wouldn't you know, she never needed the surgery after all. She is now pain free and goes in once a month for maintenance visits.

I also injured my lower back some years ago while I was lifting a heavy object (improper lifting technique...DUH!). I went to my mom's chiropractor and he fixed me right up. It was like Valor said: you taper off as you get better. I went every day, then every other day, then a couple of times a week - just tapered off until I was good as new.

    They really do work wonders.

Depending on your insurance it can get expensive though, so check with the insurance company first to see if you're covered, and for how many visits.

I hope you feel better soon.

Thanks brother... this is an old thread, but like I mentioned it's not as big of a deal anymore. Every once in a while if I pick up something heavy I'll feel it for that day, but it really hasn't been a nuisance like it was before. I appreciate the advice, though, and will take that into consideration if it starts to act up again.
