Officer John “Jack” Maguire, Woburn, MA

Chief: Woburn cop slay like ‘wild west’ - BostonHerald.com

It was the first and last time in 34 years of public service that Woburn police officer John “Jack” Maguire, 60, a married father, had fired his gun on the job. He planned to retire in October.
Maguire killed the suspect that shot him. Suspect was serving 3 life terms for armed robbery until some parole board decided he should be let out in 2009. 25 years ago he shot a security guard and also escaped custody by holding a deputy at gunpoint. His brother also was in prison for shooting a police officer. Ironically, their father was a Boston police officer.

3 men plead not guilty in Mass. police shooting - BostonHerald.com

Three men pleaded not guilty Wednesday (6 April 2011) to charges stemming from the December killing of a Woburn police officer whose death sparked public outrage and new scrutiny of state parole policy.

I was hoping for murder charges for all three surviving oxygen thieves.

Domenic Cinelli - killed by Maquire after fatally wounding him.
Arthur Cinelli - charges of conspiracy to commit masked armed robbery and accessory before the fact to masked armed robbery. (I don't think he was present at the actual robbery, so I can see not charging with murder but I wouldn't lose sleep if they did.).
Scott Hanright - charges of murder, armed robbery, assault and conspiracy.
Kevin Dingwell - accessory after the fact of robbery and making misleading statements to police. (picked up Hanright after cell call).

Hanright and Domenic Cinelli were present during the robbery and murder. Arthur Cineli was apparently the brains behind it. I would have hoped that if murder of a police officer is a "foreseeable consequence" for charging Hanright, then planning the robbery/murder would fall under a murder conspiracy. Maybe to removed. Arthur and Dominic were/are career criminals so I doubt Arthur will ever get out. Certainly no parole board will ever release him.

After it was disclosed that Domenic Cinelli had been paroled despite receiving three life prison sentences as a repeat offender, five members of the parole board who voted to free him resigned and have been replaced. There also has been a renewed push for legislation to bar parole for anyone sentenced for a third serious felony.

Sounds like five members of the parole board should also be facing "accessory after the fact."
