Irvington Police Officer in Critical Condition after Head-On Collision
NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- An Irvington police officer is in critical, but stable condition after his patrol car was struck by a stolen vehicle being driven by a 16-year-old late Wednesday.

Officer Luigi Osso, 31, was taken to Westchester Medical Center in Valhalla shortly after the incident occurred.
Osso was on his way to assist police track down a stolen car Wednesday night before the young driver in a blue Mustang, which police say was stolen in Connecticut, collided head on with Ossa.
Irvington Police told 1010 WINS that the officer was unconscious when he was cut from his patrol car and taken to the hospital.
Doctors says the next 72 hours are crucial for Osso as members of the Irvington police force pray and pull for the officer’s full recovery.
