Update: Police Identify State Trooper Killed in Crash

State police say an on-duty state trooper has been killed in a car crash in Greene County.
He has been identified as 30-year-old David J. Lane of Dexter, NY.
Lane has four years of service with the state police.
The crash happened around 2:30 this afternoon in the area of Route 32 and Cairo Junction Road in Catskill.
Police tell us Lane was heading northbound on Route 32 in his patrol car, when he tried to pass another northbound vehicle,
The two vehicles made contact, and Lane's car went off the road, hitting a telephone pole.
Trooper Lane worked out of the State Police Catskill station.
The Watertown Daily Times reports that Lane served in Iraq and Afghanistan with the Army's C Company, 307th Engineer Battalion, 82nd Airborne Division.
