Sgt Bolton was a 24 year veteran police officer who died of cancer today at his home. He started with the West York Boro PD and shortly after that moved to the West Manchester Township PD in the early 1980's. He rose to the position of chief which he held for 6 years until the illness caused him to ask to be returned to his previous duties as a Sgt. He was still on active duty as of today.
He was a fighter to the end facing his battle with courage and dignity. He leaves behind a wife and three daughters. He was a popular police officer in his community and will be missed by all who knew him. Sgt. Bolton was 48 years old.
