Faulkner Co. Sheriff, Arkansas, line of duty death

The law enforcement community and much of the rest of the county is mourning the loss of Faulkner County Detective Jim Wooley, who died Tuesday of injuries suffered on the job the previous day.

Wooley, 60, was working on a case of a stolen riding lawn mower and was talking with people at their Ranchette Road home. He was preparing to sit on a chair on the home's front porch when he fell about five feet off the porch. He was transported to Conway Regional Medical Center then transferred to St. Vincent Infirmary Medical Center, where he was awaiting surgery when he died about 7:30 a.m. Tuesday, 08-06-03.
