    Halloween snowstorm...

In Connecticut we had a big snowstorm (about a foot of snow) on October 29th. Since most of the trees have not shed their leaves yet, the snow built up and lots of trees and branches came down, causing massive power outages.

We lost power at 1700 hours on Saturday. We have been staying with my parents since mid-day on Sunday. My parents are wonderful and they love having our four-year-old triplets there. The only estimate the power company is providing is that everyone <should> have power back within seven days.

For some reason, this had been tremendously stressful on me. I think I am feeling so stressed because I feel like my family has no house and is relying on charity to get by. My parents are great and we have been stocking the house with food and have already taken them out for dinner twice, but I am still feeling like I am not providing for my family because we have no place to live.

I know that sounds odd. It's hard to explain, I guess. Just a rant...

Nah that's what family is for...you didn't cause the snowstorm did you? I'm sure you'd do the same if the situation was reversed. Just keep your room clean so you don't get grounded.

We had one on Saturday. It was only a few inches but enough to make the roads bad. My sis crashed on the PA Turnpike.

Up here in CT, I just got power back yesterday evening.

I feel bad for those linemen. Those guys were busting their butts out there on the poles.

I hope everything is getting better.
As far as going to the parents,
its just family taking care of family.
The long term question is do you
    get a generator or not.
Of course, then you would be hosting the
    neighbors LOL
On a clear night, I can see the other deputies emergency lights at least 10 miles away.
But it isnt flat here LOL
