When I was younger (in my twenties) I was fairly active and could pretty much eat anything I wanted and not gain weight.
As I got a little older (in my thirties) I found I had to put a little more effort into working out (rather than just relying on sports and such) and had to watch what I ate a bit more in order to avoid gaining weight.
Now, in my forties, I find that I have to be fairly careful about what I eat, and I have to be diligent about exercising if I still want to be able to button my pants in the morning. I sometimes work out twice a day, rarely go a day without at least one workout, and pretty much have to avoid favorites like pizza, lasagna, french fries, and desserts. I also drink Michelob Ultra a lot more than I used to, and have to save the Guinness for special occasions. (Damn this aging metabolism!!!) :-)
I am assuming that once I hit my fifties I will have to exercise three times a day and eat nothing but salad in order to avoid ballooning up over two hundred pounds.
I am also guessing that by the time I hit my sixties I will simply wake up, get on the treadmill, and spend the day there while drinking water and trying to make a single banana and a cup of plain yogurt last the entire day...
