I'm at the US west coast in two weeks

On tuesday sept.6th.my daughter an me will start our round trip through the west coast of the USA, we have overnights in San Francisco, Santa Maria CA, Los Angeles, Las Vegas, Bryce UT, Williams AZ, Palm Springs CA, Visalia CA and last night again in San Francisco.

Is there any member around that areas who interestet in a beer or two?

I was in the northeast in 2002 and 2005 (MA, NY, VT, CT, RI, NJ) and tried a lot of different beers. The best taste I got was Samuel Adams Lager and a brew in a restaurant on Nantucket Island MA what was the best drought beer I had in the USA. My passed friend who moved to the USA 2000 offered my Rolling Rock but anyone told me that this is one of the "cheap brews" and it wasn't the best beer I had in my life. In 1990 when I was in Florida I got Budweiser but this is a very thin watery somewhat fluid. I also tried Coors and never drank it again. In FL I mainly drank Corona, also when it is a chemical beer. I have no glue what kind of beers I have to expect on the west coast but I tried some California vines and there are a few very good ones.

Samuel Adams is my choice for the larger brewing companies. I like a local brew that's kind of like Sam Adams, but distinctly different. I'm sure the west coast beers aren't that bad. I bet you can get something you want if things don't work out.

Rolling Rock used to be made not far from where I live. I think it's still made in PA but I'm not sure where. If you like lager, try a Yuengling. It's good stuff and also made here in PA.

Well, I never had a Yuengling in my life but I read that brand some times here on RP. So when I have the chance to get one on the west coast I will try it and will let you know what a real beer profi think about that.

In three days I'll be in San Francisco, it is the first time I'll be at the US west coast (east coast I was three times before) and I hope to find some good places to see, places to eat, places to drink and some places to relax, the last weeks have been a bit stressy for me and I need some time to relax :-)

I'm back since yesterday evening. We had two great weeks in your country and I'm impressed for your National Parks. Bryce, Zion, Yosemite, Grand Canyon, Monument Valley .... it was fantastic. Had a plane flight from Page to the Monument Vlley and than to the Grand Canyon, it was so impressiv. I stand in the boot marks of "the Duke" in onument Valley and saw the area he rides in "She ware a yellow ribbon" and so uch other great movies.

In LA I had dinner with RP member histfan71 - thanks again for the dinner and the VIP tour Joe.

San Francisco is a city I will visit again, with my wife, not my daughter. She is 20 and you crazy americans don't allow her to visit the bars. So I had no chance of a nice evening in Frisco.

Most of the beers I had are Sam Adams, had no chance to try a Yuengling. But I had some good tasted beers in the different areas from micro breweries that I asked for. But I also tried - only one time - your regular thin watery somethings they call beer there (Bud, Coors....) Brrrrh. A dishonor for my thirsty throat.

But I will come back again into the USA, maybe the south states next time.
