How many of you own pets.....

How many of you own pets and what kind are they? I have 3 cats and have always owned cats. I've even come up with 32 reasons why cats are better to own than dogs! (No offense to dog owners! I love dogs but they know I have no idea how to handle them and they run me over! Literally!!)

Heres a few reasons why cats are.........ANYWAY......

    1. Cats don't sniff the crotches of everyone who visits you.

    2. Cats don't need a bath....they bathe themselves.

    3. Cats won't come out of the bathroom while you have company with a dirty pair of underwear in their mouths.

    4. Cats don't chase cars.

    5. Cats don't wag their tails and clear off your coffee table in one swipe.

    6. Cats don't bark at 3 a.m. causing the neighbors to call police to complain.

    7. Cats don't eat dog poop.
Trust Fall! READY?? You go first!

I'M LOST! I've gone out to find myself but should I return before I get back, please ask me to wait!

But in response to your question, we have 4 cats (three female, 1 male, but really all "its"!) and one male dog who is HUGE (Great Pyrenees).

Strangely enough, I'm allergic to cats...

I have 3 dogs... well, 2 dogs and a puppy.

I have a boxer, Maximus, who is the old man of the house at 6. Then there is Lulu, a boxer-beagle mix that I rescued from Louisiana. She's almost 3. Finally, there is my 10 month old pup, Samuel Adams (or just Sam). He's a Newfoundland and was about 96lbs last month... haven't checked lately.

Note the pic of him about 6-8 weeks ago... and he is a big baby.

    @Cat_Doc

    Oh Gee's.....where do I start?
    Pets & Working Animals counted
    1 Horse,
    2 Cats,
    5 Dogs - 3 Maremma Guardian's, 2 Border Collies, 1 Chihuahua, 1 Mini Foxy.
    some goldfish
    White Pidgins,

The only things that live inside are the fish, ....cats come in occasionally.

The dogs (apart from the toy breeds) are restrained at all times either in their paddock with the animals they are bonded to guard, (or on a chain---unless in use), so they don't wander around biting or sniffing unexpected visitors.

We're left with 2 cats. They remain indoors and are extremely personable. The one on the right has been trained to lie down, sit, and sit up.

The dog deteriorated rapidly and she was euthanised last Monday.

Don't tell anybody, but I like cats. I've known a couple whose personalities were so unique they leave a lasting impression.

I was a big German Shepherd fan during my younger years, but haven’t had a dog since Shogun passed and broke my heart.

peach sorry to hear about your dog :(

    we have:

A donkey ( yes a real live donkey)- MOE
three rabbits ( Roger, Rebecca, and Rachel)
    one cat- JJ
two turtles ( dimesized that hubby rescued at work) Thomas & Emily
two dogs ( one great Dane - Magic and one jack russell terrier- maggie , the dane is more hyper then the JR)!!!!
two guinea pigs ( john & henry)
and a gold fish - Suess....

I would like to setup our 55 gallon Aquarium and put a bigger turtle in there i think it's neat to watch them swim but i'm worried about the tank getting nasty and smelly?? for those of you that have bigger turtles how do you keep the tank from getting icky so fast does the filteration system automatically keep it cleaner? the little turtles we have our pretty gross I'm changing their water like 4 times a week... I thought about putting a Algea eater in the bigger tank would that also help?
    three rabbits (

If you put an algae eater in a turtle tank the turtle will eat it. Unless maybe the little turtles won't - but anyway. I have a medium size tetra filter which has a cartridge filled with charcoal you rinse and change when needed. I also clean the tank daily with a turkey baster sucking out the crud into a bucket and then put clean water back - usually takes about fifteen minutes. Turtles are great and I love mine but they are messy since they are top feeders. I also buy a dozen rosey red feeder fish once in a while so she has "fresh food".

There are many websites for turtle info and they have different personalities, mine is about four years old and about eight inches long now. She is very friendly and sociable but became quite disagreeable when the cat started sleeping ontop of the hood of her tank at night. I had been wondering why it was kind of dipping in the middle. good luck
