Rosewater pig to undergo facelift WT????

Would you bother, better off bacon.

BORIS the Rosewater pig is getting a facelift, but not for cosmetic reasons.

The 250kg family pet - originally thought to be a miniature breed - will have to be carried by horse float to a Gawler vet who has agreed to do the brow-lifting surgery he needs to restore his vision.

The three-year-old pig, a local icon seen trotting around Rosewater Oval almost daily, has developed a deformity causing his brow to cover his eyes.

Owners Graeme and Julie Cane say just shedding a bit of excess pork won’t do the trick, as Boris’ condition worsens when he drops a few kilos and more loose skin covers his face.

    Hmmmmmm. Bacon.......

But then red or brown sauce?!?!?

Can't see the appeal of keeping a farmyard animal for a pet. The latest craze/fashion accessory over here here is "micro pigs." Needless to say not all those sold were micro pigs but just piglets. I dare say you Aussies would think my bearded dragon (no not the Mrs) is a pointless pet too though!!!

One of our guys, a retired Army Command Sergeant Major trained a Vietnamese Pot Bellied Pig to sniff out drugs. It was really good, I guess their noses are better than dogs.... Unfortunately, it was a typical civil service pig and hated to work. When the pig thought they were going on a search, it would try to hide.....
Apparently, I'm supposed to be more angry about what Mitt Romney does with his money than what Barack & Michelle Obama do with mine

I suppose as a foraging animal their sense of smell would be quite well developed. I know they're trained to sniff out truffles in some parts of Europe so why not drugs? Although I'm not sure being a Police "pig handler" wouldn't have much kudos attached!!

They use them to find truffles as Martyn has already mentioned. . . started back in them olden days . . . with the Romans I believe. Hmmm, didn't the Romans invent Civil Servants? ?

True, nobody points and laughs at your German Shepherd.

Pigs are also quite intelligent too. This guy was a kick, I loved being around him. He said the pig picked it up pretty quick, but was strong headed. His experience working and guiding Army 2nd Lt's came in quite handy!
