Bloody disgraceful conduct by local govt!!!

A local council has totally disrespected our flag . . . it's a friggin' disgrace!!! So peeved off, I'm sure it wouldn't happen in the US.

ST KILDA'S council is fending off flak over its decision to hoist a gay pride flag in place of the Australian flag. There are three flagpoles on most of the council’s town halls, but this week, while it kept flying the local and the national Aboriginal flags, the Australian flag was taken down.

“The gay pride flag replaces the Australian flag, which is at the highest mast head,” City of Port Phillip mayor Rachel Powning confirmed this morning. But not everyone agrees, with the council accused of pandering to minority groups by flying the gay community flag above other town halls. Port Phillip Council's move to give the rainbow flag priority in the lead up to Sunday's Pride March in St Kilda has sparked outrage.

Unfortunately, you'd be wrong. It happens occasionally in the US. Politicians here are the same. They pander to which ever group they think can get them the most votes.

I'm sure its a breach of protocol. Maybe they should have a "cause pole" where they can raise what ever flag they want for a week that sits 8ft off the ground.

I'm surprised that it was still up after the first night. I'm sure the police department would respond with the appropriate time if it was to get vandalized overnight.

Are you kidding? The US is the world leader in bullsh1t political correctness. It's absolutely OK for people here to fly other countries' flags first and to disrespect the US by flying our flag upside down or even burning it. The fuc&ing aclu fights for pieces of sh1t to do outrageous things in the name of freedom of speech/expression. Local "minority" (actually bordering on majority now due to illegal immigration) groups are usually guilty of those actions but our local governmental entities are also guilty of making stupid decisions like that too (catering/pandering to minorities at the expense of the majority and our country). I'm sick of it...
