I really think I have a new favorite beer.

I have never been a big Bells fan, but Hopslam is one ROCKIN' Double IPA! Like most IPAs, it is rather hoppy. It also has a nice floral and grapfruit note with a touch of honey.... VERY TASTY! It's also throwing about 10% abv down your throat! LOL

the bottle looks interesting but Yech on the beer... floral?? my sister once gave me some wine that literally tasted like a rose bush... it was disgusting the only bear i like is Michelob in the bottle and it has to be ice cold, other then that I am a barcardi girl

Unbelievable. I literally just walked in the door from Wegemans where I bought my condo neighbors their favorite Blue Moon for shoveling the snow out of my spot....and while I was in the beer case, I was looking for something interesting to have with the sub sandwich I also got at W's....and I bought some Yuengling and this stuff....only becuz one of the workers suggested it when I asked him where the hell they were hiding the Blue Moon. LOL.

I am hoping to make an escape and smoke it tomorrow. My wife does not get many weekends off, so it is hard to sneak out... and too damned cold to smoke it on my deck or in my garage. LOL I will get to the cigar shop later this week at the latest.




....and Trip, you bought some Hopslam? What do you think? I am going to the liquor store to buy another 6 pack or 2 (praying they still have some) on Monday. This stuff is AWESOME!

Well, I'm starting with the Yuengling...which I really loved when i tried it...and leaving the best for last or for the SuperBowl....but will let you know.....love the sound of grapefruit and other stuff in it....expensive sh** though, lol

Yeungling is like a light beer when you compare it to a double IPA! LOL I am good with Yeungling, though. Yes, Hopslam is a bit pricey, but DAMN it is tasty! :D

When did beer reviews get so ..... fruity?

I'm blaming it on the change from pull tabs to the safety one. Remember the old ones that you stuck back in the can but always had the slight risk of that razor blade being swallowed while drinking it? I'm thinking those tabs were much more dangerous to the drinkers that were swishing it around in their mouth searching for citrus or bouquets of flowers. Darwin weeded them out. After the safety tab though, all sorts of "beer" came out.

And to be completely honest, I'm more of a fruity umbrella adult beverage drinker. Even the beers I like are fruity like some of the cider beer. Or the really weak wheat beers that people add fruit too. My dad, though, drinks beer every day and has done it since before I was a twinkle. Schlitz with the pull tab when I was young through Miller lite is his choice today. Him and his buddies coming home with a case of Schlitz after a day of backbreaking manual labor. Pulling the tab ring and inserting it back into the can, slamming it back as the first cold drink of the day and hearing them say "nice floral and grapefruit note with a touch of honey" kind of cracked me up.
