    Dumb Drivers

Hi, i'm a typical SUV driver. Because i drive a super humongous vehicle, i will feel the need to tail you no farther then 2 yards. I will always speed excessively. If you get in my way, i'll just run you over, becuase my car is super humongous. What's that? It's raining and you don't want to go 10 over the speed limit? That's fine, i'll just tail you enough so you get so scared you'll spin out and hit something.

Bah, stupid SUV drivers, why must so many of them develop some sort of superiority complex because they drive such a huge vehicle. Or did they already have a superiority complex so they got a super humongous vehicle to reaffirm their superior awesomenss? Or maybe they have small penises?

Though it's funny, whenever it snows or gets icy, i see more SUVS stuck in ditches than any other type of vehicles.

Just felt like rantin a bit, i know not all SUV drivers are like that

Your're right pup. I think some of them drive them to feel big and superior and to make up for feeling insignifigant in their daily lives. I always see them in the ditches by the side of the road too. lol

4 wheel drive means more ability to go but no more ability to stop than anyone else.

Those 4 X 4 drivers who crash in bad weather are more likely to cause some real damage/injury and of course are more likely to be cited than the 2 wheel drive vehicle operators.

My cruiser at work has studded tires all of the way around and I still take it easy.

Not wishing to stick up for SUV's because im not but I often think they drive too close behing other vehicles as they have an advantage being so high off the ground they can see the traffic over the vehicle in front which leads them into a false sense of security.
    Thats what I think anyway.

Hi my name is Bob (not really my name) and I drive an SUV...

no really I do drive an SUV and I totally agree. I have 4WD but I'm smart enough to know it doesn't mean I drive a tank. I also laugh at those morons speeding away b/c they have a truck/SUV.

I think the problem you are seeing is that alot of the drivers nowadays have no clue as to what they are doing. They don't understand or apply the laws of physics.

I used to think that the tailgating, random lane changing, high speeds, ...etc. were the result of a concious decision by the SUV driver to be maniacal.

After riding with various friends who drive SUV's, I can honestly say these people really don't pay attention to what they are doing. They do not excercise proper following distances, never signal lane changes (If they do, it's usually activated just as they're changing as opposed to before), and drive at some rather high speeds regardles of conditions and/or traffic.

Quite frankly, it's friggin' scary. It used to not be this way, I just think proper driving etiquette, awareness of surroundings, and driver discipline has gone by the wayside. Add the fad/craze of SUV's and the problem is increased 10 fold. I say this because I do see the same number of passenger cars operated in the exact same manner.

Driver's Education is probably where the disconnect happens. Send these folks to BSR(Summit Point) for a week, and maybe....just maybe...things could improve. Until that happens, it will not matter what type of vehicle is being thrown about the highways.

Never said others don't. One reason why i said "People drive instinctively, not consciously", I didn't say SUV drivers, just people. I also noted that i know not all SUV drivers drive that recklace.

This thread just happened to be directed at one group of bad drivers.

Thats a pretty broad statement there even with your disclaimer.

    I don't think i made myself clear.

"People drive instinctively, not consciously, that's the way i look at it."

I meant this in a negative way towards driving instinctively. People drive stupidly because of that.

Basically, we're on the same page
