Utterly random question: Holsters for blind canes

OK. Who knows if this'll get any bites whatsoever. I figure it can't hurt to ask.

I'm blind. I mention that so this next bit makes sense.

While I ordinarily have enough sight to navigate without it, at night or when I'm outside in an unfamiliar place, sometimes just for identification, I sometimes use a cane - your classic white cane, 54" at full length and I think made out of aluminium. Here's the problem, or at least one big reason why I often try to go to extremes not to carry a cane:

While your average cane folds up, it does so very bulkily - with the canes I use, into 4 equal sections, and at the end is usually a plastic tip of some sort, used to make extra sound or when tapping things with your cane (the usual technique) isn't advisable. (I have some canes with roller tips, others with flat tips, but the point is the same - if the tip goes off, the cane is nearly-useless.) This is a problem generally, because you're folding and unfolding your cane a lot in my experience...But also because carrying a cane can be difficult. You can carry it in your hand, but that leaves you one hand to do other things with - and it can be uncomfortable to carry metal in the cold, for example. You can put it with you when you sit somewhere - if you have the space.

And there's just no good way to carry it without taking up a hand. You can't stick it in a coat pocket,

So, I had the most random thought while writing my post in the firearms section.

In a way, the needs of a blind person with a cane are not unlike the needs of someone with a weapon. There are, checking Google and some catalogs, holsters for canes already. However, here's the problem: At present, the only holsters I can find go on your belt. This can be bad - Not only do those holsters drag things down with their weight, and slip and smack against your leg noisily, there are plenty of times when you not only can't or don't want to use your cane, but would rather not advertise the fact that you use one, for safety or security reasons (as, to be blunt, being visibly disabled makes you a much easier target than the able-bodied guy that just walked by, even if you're aware and he's not) or just because people still get ideas in their head when they see you with a white cane. (People who use guide dogs can't hide the dog, but the dog tends to win people over anyway in ways a cane doesn't. And I doubt most people would even think of mugging someone with a german shepherd on a harness.) And finally, a cane holster on your leg would sort of detract from the look of the user in a suit (for example), I think.

Hence my question: Does anybody know of places that work with leather or similar materials, maybe that make custom holsters for weapons? What just came to mind, because of thinking about these issues (especially the suit thing), is a cane holster designed, like the shoulder holster for a pistol, to be worn under a suit jacket that would conceal the object in the holster.

I don't know whether such a thing would be affordable. I don't know whether it would be make-able. I don't know whether what I'm thinking of would even be practical to use.

But I do know it's something I'd look into, if I knew where to look.
