Elderly to buy Prescription Drugs in Canadian

FromSubject: Fw: Isn't That The Truth!!!

A car company can move its factories to Mexico and claim it's a free
    market.
A toy company can outsource to a Chinese subcontractor and claim it's a
    free market.
A major bank can incorporate in Bermuda to avoid taxes and claim it's a
    free market.
BUT, heaven help the elderly who dare to buy their prescription drugs
    from a Canadian pharmacy.
How Un-American! Maybe you'll forward it on. I DID!

One thing that you may want to add to that is the fact that those drugs are made in the US or by US companies for the most part and then are sold to Canadian pharmacies. Those pharmacies get a subsidy from the government to sell them at a lower than market value cost, this is why they are cheaper.

In Australia we have a similar scheme to Canada.

The irony is that our Government right this moment is negotiating a Free Trade Agreement with the US and one of the sticking points is what we call the Pharmaceutical Benefits Scheme or PBS.

The drug companies' lobby wanted us to pay similar amounts to that which US citizens have to pay for their medication. Our Government knows that to let that one stay on the table is political death back home.

My question is: why isn't there a similar scheme as that which operates in Canada and Australia available to US citizens?

The FDA fears for our safety. They say the drugs in Canada could be unsafe. Funny considering they come from the US.

Here in MI, its not just the elderly heading north. The elderly are just more organized and go up by the bus load.

Now if you go to MX to get drugs, its the ones that aren't approved yet, right?
