Congratulations, Cass! What you did takes a lot of strength! We're proud of you!

And FYI, in my experience, people who abuse children have a real interesting time in jail!

    Actual conversation with suspect
Suspect: Why am I under arrest?
    Me: For posession of CDS.
Suspect: Man, it wasn't CDS! It was E pills!

If at first you don't succeed. . .don't try skydiving!

Note: Any laws I quote or mention pertain to the state of Maryland unless noted otherwise.

On Friday (two days ago) the second guy pleaded guilty to "course of sexual conduct against a child in the first degree". Under the plea agreement the DA asked for ten years, and the judge gave him fifteen. Yay! It happened to be the same judge who heard the other case, so that may have helped. At first I was worried it might work against me.

He'll probably get out after half of the time, but it's plenty of time for him to find out what it's like to be on the receiving end. I almost feel bad for the guy...

I'm glad it's over, and quickly, and without a trial, but I'm not feeling the "big relief" that I had been hoping for...

Now I'm just wondering if they'll charge my mom for standing by and doing nothing to prevent the abuse. The judge made a negative side remark about "the victim's mother", and it sounded like he'd love to see her charged. Initially, when I spoke to the detective, I told him I absolutely did not want my mom to get charged with anything, but at this point I don't really care anymore. She's had plenty of opportunity to make things right...

ADD: Oh yeah, the guy gets to pay for my therapy, too, so that's a big relief for me.

    Sa-WEEEEEEEEEET!
Of every one hundred men, ten should not even be here. Eighty are nothing but targets. Nine are real fighters, and we are lucky to have them, for they make the battle. Ah, but the One... One of them is a Warrior... He will bring the others back.

    "Wrong door, buddy!"

Let no man's ghost say my training failed him.

A Couple of Wins for you!!

I wouldn't be overly concerned about the lack of a feeling of weight coming off of your shoulders. I think you might find that over time, and you may not notice any difference simply because you were expecting it.

Explore the concept of "Sensory gating" in that regard. Its like you stub your toe and it hurts, but it doesn't hurt so bad if you have other things to occupy your senses, ie, you are playing a basketball game when you stub your toe.

    Proud of you, Cassie.
