Let me assure you that the mods ARE taking these concerns seriously. There is a discussion underway in the Mod area, and the concerns that everyone seems to have are being relayed to the Admins and IB (not that they couldn't see them here.)
Let me also tell you that I personally share your concerns about many of these issues; the verified tags need to come back, the colors need darkened, the line between post and sig needs to be much more prominent and the search feature needs to be repaired.
I am sure that FBINA will put in an appearance here soon to address these concerns and update everyone about what is being done by the PTB...

Alright...well, I'll speak.
This issue, or the issues surrounding the migration, is something that has and still is being addressed in the mod section, as well as with the owners. So don't fret, you are being heard.I regret that I am unable to bring news of their timely resolve, but I am sure it will not be overly extended. I am also sure that I would not be alone in saying this, but I apologize for these inconveniences and/or any nuisances that they have been. We will let you all know the progress as soon as we do.
Oh and BTW, I like the sig too, it's just that until there is an update to the TOS you can't direct it towards another member.

My new hero!
Let me clarify that moderators are not admin, and cannot change settings on the site. Even though several mods have responded to this thread, we can no more change things than you can.
Second, the issues that have been raised are known to FBINA188 and realpolicecs, our sites two admins. Both are engaged with IB on making these issues known to those who can approve the changes (this site is owned by a company now, so it's no longer the days where a single admin can change the site's settings at will). This is the nature of the world, small companies get bought by larger ones as they become popular, and changes (good and bad) follow in behind. It is what it is, but these issues have been sent up the chain to the right people. In the meantime, try to understand that those of us here (mods and admin) are doing what we can to get this issues tackled by IB, we're not sitting back and saying to ourselves, "it's not our problem."
If the verified tags remain gone indefinitely I'd say there's merit to this statement, but I've been told by FBINA188 and realpolicecs that this will be corrected (not "we'll look into it", or "well see what can be done"). Any technological update will have hiccups that need to be corrected, but there's no plan to have the Verified LEO tags permanently removed.Originally Posted by Creeker

My new hero!
I just want the "old" forum back.
Please know that I pray for each of you daily. Be very careful out there & BE SAFE.

Your guess is as good as mine. I don't work for Internet Brands, but I would assume the change was made as a permanent layout (vice a temporary testing, though temporary changes to the site's layout have been done before). Remember, even though mods have access to close threads, ban trolls, etc, we're still just normal members of the site (we can't make changes to the site's layout ourselves, fix glitches in the system, etc.), not employees of Internet Brands, or privy to their corporate planning for the site.
Wish I could give you more insight, but many of us on the mod side are just as in the dark regarding these changes as you all are.

Personally I like the new look, format, background colors and everything about it. The administrators have done a good job....I do think it's a bit unusual for a police forum to do away with the VLEO status but it's no big deal and we'll get used to it. The main thing is the forum still remains intact and we'll still be able to post and respond to various posts, LE and non included.
I've never particularly liked the term verified and think that certified best describes a bonafide, active/retired LEO

Not sure if you read my posts above, but from what I've been told by admin, the Verified LEO tags WILL be coming back, and with good reason. It's what helps to differentiate our site from others, as well as illustrate to non-LEOs the person they're asking questions to is a bonafide cop.
As far as the term "verified," we've used it because this site has traditionally verified that cops are who they claim to be.

I think the new forum theme is tacky. On a laptop's LCD screen, it is a pain to the eyes.
Oh well, I didn't pay to be on here...... it's just like the last few complete redesigns of Facebook... but both are still a free service so whatever.
I like it the way it was.....bring it back....bring it back! lol

I like how it's being moved from the classic style but the color scheme is terribly hard on the eyes. I would (personally) pick a darker hue color as the background of the forum because the white is rather over powering and tends give people headaches...
As for the leo tags, just give it time it's not like it's just a click away. Writing code can be troublesome and im sure there is a few other problems that they have found that take priority over leo tags.
I agree. And again, I wish the font used when writing in the reply boxes appeared a little bigger. I've more or less adapted to the rest of it. Goodness knows, my old police dept. never made ridiculous changes merely for change's sake!I think they used to change what worked just so we'd know they were still there and in charge.....
As far as the tags go, IB owns the software. You'd have thought someone would have thought this through before implementing it.... But again, I used to be a cop so this is nothing new to me.....
