I know... :( I just want to avoid any more police/court involvement if I can help it. This is draining, especially with everything else that I have going on. The texts haven't been abusive, and as long as he doesn't show up here I'm not too concerned.

I know, I'm making excuses... I will stop by the station this afternoon...

Good! Because you know deep down inside that it'll be easier to deal with it now, even with all the other stuff in your life than it will be when he's beating on your door.
Apparently, I'm supposed to be more angry about what Mitt Romney does with his money than what Barack & Michelle Obama do with mine

The first two years of college is generally just to teach you to go to college. How to develop some decent study habits and manage your time. When you hit upper division classes, you'll be doing more research and you will learn more. I should say, be exposed to more. What you retain varies.
I have to agree with this. I also give a big +1 to whoever said that a lot of the basics are going to be mostly what you learned in high school. Of course you could have been like me and blown off most of high school so when I started college I had to take a bunch of remedial classes.

Try paying for classes that you don't get credit for and see how you feel

It seems like you paid attention in H.S. so your basic's really won't cover much new material. As stated it's when you get into the higher level stuff that you will get into areas you haven't seen before.
    Wrong door, buddy

The way I stay motivated is remembering that the bear minimum of education needed for decent employment nowadays is a bacholers degree. By the time I retire from the p.d. the bear minimum will be a masters degree.

Soon after joining the police department a veteran told me to make sure that I could do more than just police. Anything can happen at anytime and its wise to have other skills, qualifications, training and an education to make yourself marketable outside of a police car. Btw, this veteran attained her associates, bacholers and masters after joining the police department. She is a wife and mother of three. So, that showed me that if you want anything bad enough you can get it done.

This advice motivates me when I come home from work exhausted and don't feel like doing my homework.

Gotta do what you gotta do! Hang in there and good luck!

Just another piece of advice....I stayed motivated in College by sitting next to the hottest girl in class. Most of the time that got me study dates.

Hey, a date is a date.

Hey, a date is a date.
Now how is that going to help her out when she IS the hottest girl in class?
