You are right. How a site views/operates is dependent on the browser, not the OS. Programs and hardware need to interact with the OS, so that is where you will see your issues... and the word is that Win 7 is pretty solid.
I have tinkered with it, but I really can't say that I have played with it enough to speak with any intelligence on it. I know several people who have the RC and I have yet to hear anything but praise about it.
