    Blackberrys

Just curious how common it is for police officers to own blackberrys, and for those of u that don't, which type of phone do you own, and what cellphone carrier are you with. Also, when u are on duty do you carry your cellphone on your duty belt, in your pocket, or do u keep it in your vehicle

My Crackberry is issued. We carry it wherever we want to. I have am Otterbox case for it and carry it on my belt somewhere or another most of the time. W have sprint service and it is ok, at best.

My Crackberry is the one from Nextel. I also carry it in a Otterbox case mainly on the belt. It does okay even on the slower IDEN network. I do like that we can setup dynamic talkgroups for multiple agency ops.

Crackberry in Otterbox, with AT&T. Sometimes it is worth it's weight in gold, most days it is my kryptonite.

The only thing I really like about mine is the official email access without having to setup my remote access on a laptop.

I love my personal Blackberry. It is far more covenient than the Motorola Q that I had previously, and I have had nothing but Motorolas since I started phone service. My personal service is with Alltel/Verizon.

My work Sprint Nextel, on the other hand ....

My personal phone goes in a cargo pocket of my BDUs, my Nextel goes on my belt.

Same here. Love my Blackberry and its far more reliable (even with the occasional hickups-spelling?? here and there) than the Motorola Q, which was nothing but headaches....

I also use Verizon and carry the Blackberry in my shirt pocket.
Seems to do alright there and has stood up to foot pursuits and fights thus far, so thats where it'll stay.....

Yeah, they've got some cool stuuf. Slacker Radio isn't too bad (the free one).

I have a personal Blackberry on Verizon and love it. I got it because I had been checking my E-mail on my normal phone with mobile web and it was ok, but I wanted to try a change. I'd hate to go back.

We issuse them to some of the staff at work (mostly higherups) in general most of our LE (and fire staff) that have a issused phone just have normal phones.

I go against the Blackberry camp and carry a Palm Centro.

I think sprint is a HECK of a lot better than ATT, and down here the Verizon and TMobile campls are slowly being eaten by the Crikett and Pocket crowd.

I own flip phone that can dial numbers, no need for any extras. It makes sense if you have to write e-mails and work related stuff, otherwise I have no use for that stuff.

Now Brendon you sound strangly like that guy in the Verizon commercial. You know the one that out loud says: "I don't have any need for that stuff." but on the inside he says: "Im so jealous, maybe I should steal one....":D

AT&T claims they have the best coverage world wide... I honestly think T-Mobile does because they are HUGE across the pond.

Did you just pop in a different sim when you got there?
