    Paranoia or good S.A.?

Alright, had something interesting happen to me just now...

I decided to go out and get some new movies. Kinda bored around here, finished my dry fire and holstering exercises... cleaned... did laundry... not much left to do...

So I decide to go out to Target and buy some cheap movies to increase my collection.

While I'm looking through the entertainment section I notice these two juvenile looking males that seemed interested in me. I figure they think I'm the store UC since I'm probably the only white guy in the whole store...

Well, I go over to the cash register to pay and I see these two males follow me... instead of opening my wallet like usual, as I had a number of $20 bills, I pulled my debit card out of the wallet without opening it... the whole time keeping these guys in my filed of view. One is on a cellphone talking low and another throws his hood up over his head.

Now the hairs on my neck begin to stand up. A familiar feeling I used to get whenever I found myself on the X. I grab my bag and start heading out, making sure my hand is clear to grab my knife if need be. (I can not carry my firearm right now, due to department policy)

I head out the store and the two follow me and get into an old, silver Crown Vic that is already occupied with three more individuals. I hop in my car and head out.

I watch the mirrors and this car, occupied 5 times, is behind me. They follow me down towards my apt complex. At this point I know what's going on and I decide to continue on past my complex and take a few complicated turns to test... sure enough, they make the turns.

At this point I call the non-emergency number for my department, I explain who I am and what is going on. They say that they have a unit in the area and to remain heading in the same direction and on the same road.

About one minute later all of a sudden the car passes by me, flying down the road and I see two marked units coming up quickly behind me.

I didn't stick around to find out what happened, but I gave the operator my phone number and address if they need to get a hold of me.

Just goes to show, always stay aware of what's going on around you and trust your instincts.

Coolness. I'd call back to get an update and see what happened.

Do you have to write a memo to your instructors as a result of what went down?
Of every one hundred men, ten should not even be here. Eighty are nothing but targets. Nine are real fighters, and we are lucky to have them, for they make the battle. Ah, but the One... One of them is a Warrior... He will bring the others back.

    "Wrong door, buddy!"

Let no man's ghost say my training failed him.

I called the class advisor (the FTO assigned to our class) to tell him about it and he just said, "cool" so I'm guessing not...

Good. I'm sure they already called and got the info anyway.

I would say you did the right thing! That had to describe peripheral sense is a damn good thing to have AND listen to.

Mine kicked a couple of hours ago while leaving a mall with my eldest daughter, who is quite the hottie. A guy had been walking behind us keeping a consistent distance, exited using the same door, followed our exact path through the parking lot. When I got to my car I paused with the key in hand watching the reflection in the glass to see if he was going to approach or pass. He had parked two spots before us!

May seem paranoid, but you never know. If he had hovered in his car and followed us out, I would have done just what you did. ;):D

LOL, yeah, when I told the dispatcher my badge number and where I "worked" she laughed and said she assumed I was in the academy since I have such a high badge number
