IMO, and I would think in the opinions of most in the forum... RP is truly blessed to have as a member such a super nice and also very sharp guy as retdetsgt.
I would consider it a distinct honor to meet and to sit down and have a cup of coffee with this man, who IMO is the perfect example of an officer and a gentleman.

Yep, Jim is a good man.
While we have not worked together, nor socialized together, I consider him a friend and brother.
While he might very well roll his eyes and want to kick me under the table at times, especially if a few cold ones were involved and I was feeling my oats in mixed company, I have confidence that my six was being covered.
I have conferred with Jim back when I was running the homicide unit and his experience was valued and on the mark. We have shared the experience of joys and tribulations of being a dad and grandpa.
The man has my undying respect and one of these days I will be honored to shake his hand, even if I have to wake up the neighborhood knocking on his door at dark thirty yelling, "Don't shoot, Jim, it's Cat_Doc, don't shoot!"This career is not a sprint, it is a marathon.
