I feel the need to apologize.....

I know it's been a while since I frequented this place.....but I had my reasons.
Due to some unknown malady, I've been afflicted with a loss of the complete use of my left hand over the past few months. It started like a typical "crick in the neck", like if I had slept in an awkward position or something. This has been going on since late February. I was having real issues with my job, since lots of keyboarding is required at times...and my hand wasn't doing as I instructed it. I got to the point that I couldn't even tie my shoes. :(
After trying all kinds of remedies, I felt it was time to seek medical attention. Well....just like I suspected, the doctor made a snap diagnosis without much to go on. At least, that's how I feel about it. I was put under sedation and had shots injected into my spine to relieve what was supposedly inflammation from arthritis. I've never had any signs of anything like this before, but didn't want to tell the doc how to do her job. I was told to be patient and let the drugs do their work.
Well......it's been almost 6 weeks now, and I'm not the least big impressed by the results. I actually was in so much pain that I went to a massage therapist to try for relief there. And, remarkably....it seems to have done much more good than I got for the almost $15,000 that was charged for the medical procedure.

I hope there aren't any doctors here....because right now.....I'm about ready to tell them all what hairy part of my anatomy to which they can attach their lips.

I thought for a minute that I had come to the wrong place....with all the new faces....but that's okay with me. :D

You don't have to appologize, it's not your fault.

Sinse the massage therapy is working it may be that you have a pinched nerve.
You should try going to a chiroprator.
At one point I started getting tingling in my fingers, then it got to the point where it was like my hands were falling asleep.
I went to a chiropractor and by the time I got to my car the sensation was coming back to my hands.

God bless and I hope you feel better

Thank you sir. I actually had spasms in my left arm and hand, and my hand would go numb and get cold as ice....so I had reason to worry.

I have another therapy session scheduled for tomorrow around lunchtime....so I'm hopeful there will be more improvement. It's better than it was....but there's still room for improvement.

I considered a chiropractor....but was discouraged by the report from a couple of people, so I'm gonna wait and see how this works first.

I wouldn't mind giving that doctor a ride though......with a rope tied to the rear bumper of my truck.

Get a massage therapist that works in a Chiro office. Do the massage first, then get the adjustment. Massage first allows the chiropractor to manipulate your spine much easier and yields quicker results.

I can also recommend those electronic stimulators. They usually sell them at State fairs, also online. Just start on a low setting.

VITAL STIM EMS 400 Portable Electronic Muscle Stimulation Units Optional 110V AC Power supply is available.

I carry most of my tension in my shoulders, and have had occasional numbness when I fell into bad posture/position habits. I also had a wicked case of bursitis once from doing the same thing.

I second this, as my wife is a massage therapist. You get better results from both. That, and it gets the blood flow started in the limbs, which doesn't hurt either.

I make an appearance every few months or so. I've been dealing with health problems for awhile, so I know how you feel, jmac. Just had my bi-lateral epidural steroid injections this morning. I would have taken a massage over that any day!

    Feel better soon.

I wanted to add that, but I couldn't think of how to word it without it sounding like a happy ending...
