Hey when I was pulling 45 hours a week at work plus my schooling during the day I managed to give my truck a good wax at least once a month.

I actually use sealant with an orbital and not wax. I haven't done it since March or so, but only because in the next week it is going to the body shop to get buffed out with a rotary due to the three year buildup of minor scratches/swirling...After it returns I'm putting at least one coat of sealant on it, maybe two.

You should use the sealant on top of a good layer of wax. When I wax my truck I first wash it, then use a clay bar to smooth out any scratches or grooves in the clear coat, then I prep it with a pre-waxing lotion.

After the lotion I apply the wax. I've been meaning to get the sealant to top off the detail but I've been rather cheap as of late and haven't bought any.

You put the sealant on first THEN the wax. If you do it your way then you just put sealant on top of wax which doesn't seal anything.

But since your saying to bond it with the paint, I'll do that this month.
