With time comes perspective

As you may or may have not noticed from the red "badge of shame" to the right, I'm 'infamous around these parts.' Or at least I was. In 2004, I became a relatively active member of this forum and acquired a few negative reputation points for my inquisitiveness.

I've returned not to brag, but to apologize. No adolescent wants to be told they don't 'understand' things or that with age comes wisdom, because tantamount to adolescence is believing you know everything or that you ought to access to any and all information you desire.

With age has come the understanding that many of the questions I posed then were abrasive and reeked of teen spirit, and I apologize to those who rightfully red reputation'd me.

I was inspired to return here after a hiatus because of the anger surrounding the "distraction blow" video all over the news, and the amount of people who are breaking out the harsh language and insults towards police officers.

Just thought I'd drop by and remind the LEOs here that I greatly appreciate your service, and thank you for dedicating your life and well-being to protecting the rest of us.

I've been a member since 2004, but don't remember what your situation was (and I'm too lazy to go through your old posts to find out). Five years is far too long for me to keep a grudge anyway, so no problems here. Good on you for taking a mature approach to returning to the site, though. Welcome back.
