and maybe it's just me, but I am getting a little tired of the Ima cop and your not attitude going on here lately. First comes the "descripters", then an LEO only section, and then the board becomes LEO only. This is what killed Policeone.com. I really dont want to see that happen here. This is a good place with a nice mix of LE and non LE. Remember, just because someone is not a cop, it dosnt mean they don't know what the hell they are talking about.

Ya. Ditto what Norm said. I think it's great LEO's are identified as such, if you want your own forum - well, whatever. I guess I kinda figured what made this site work was the "blend" of players. If the rest of us are gone, well that would narrow the forums down to uhhhh, yep - firearms and training. :rolleyes:

AGREE with Norm!!! That's where it's all rolling... The change is not going to happen over night, but it will happen, if all is going to go in that direction...

Norm can't be wrong cause I agree with him! But I hope nobody here is wanting to "segregate" the site totally. I can see a need for a LEO Only section for cops wanting to talk different situations that the public shouldn't hear. And I believe they had one but nobody used it much from what I heard.

Can't we all get along? ;)

DC, I dont have an answer. I wish I did. I agree that here has been an increase in troll incursions lately. Im confused about what you mean by being PC. I dont think anyone here is PC lol. If you mean a place where discussing matters of "OPSEC" then maybe you are right. That has been tried here before, but to my understanding, no one used it.

Yaaaaaaaaaa, I guess I can see your point DC. To be honest with ya I wouldn't want to know everything you guys talk about - LOL. Maybe combine one of the already existing forums with a LEO only tag. Maybe Traffic Bureau.

What don't you guys create a message board yourselves and just invite the cops from here to talk? Saves Jason the time, and keeps all of us non-cops out. You can make message boards so that you have to register to read posts, and you can deny anyone that you don't invite.

However, I do NOT want this to go to all-LEO, as I mentioned in another thread. There is VERY rarely anything that I'd want to discuss on a forum that I would not want the general public to read. You are not the real deal unless I know you, regardless what limitations are put on a forum.

I have used LEO-only forums to ask equipment questions (reviews). I have done this becaus I thought my likelihood of getting an intelligent review were higher. I could just as easily do this on a public section and just disregard those not in the know. Hell, most patrol officers would not be able to answer questions I might have in regards to tactical issues. Should I have a tactical officer ONLY section. That would be assinine! LOL

RP is fine. It's a good mix of people, if we can keep the trolls off the site!

Good post Norm! :D I love this site. I have learned so much here, as well as shared a lot of knowledge too. Remember, life experiences and knowledge can be just as helpful as LE knowledge. Just because someone is not a LEO doesn't mean they can't give credible answers. I know the trolls can make some members a little hostile at times, but I think we know who has good intentions and who doesn't. I'm not quite sure what is being accomplished by verifying members as LEOs, but I hope it doesn't split up the great diversity here. That's what makes these debates so entertaining. Besides, if the site becomes all LEO, who's TX going to argue with? lol :D

I agree with what most everyone else has already said. The cop only part was running for a while but I dont believe anyone used it. I like the site the way it is now, distinguishing who is a cop or not would be fine, but I think most give it away by the way they talk/type.
