Just sit tight Greggers... Bring the lose stuff in out of the yard so they don't break your windows, get a lot of batteries, candles and gas for your grill (or charcoal) a few gallons of water, fill your tub to flush the toilet with.
This will just be a little blow.
Ignore the weatherpeople for the most part, remember that sensationalism is what gets their ratings and this is when the Weather idiots do their part for the ratings.
I once watched the famous "Jim Cantori" standing on the Isle of Palms during one of our near misses. He was flapping in the breeze really good, wearing that windbreaker, making out about how he could barely stand up, and then during the cutaway the weather guy panned a little too wide and caught several <10 year olds playing in the sand nearby:rolleyes:

Come on now, Hanna ain't but a bit of a gust.
The hurricane season is one thing I will definitely not miss when I move west. I can deal with a blizzard, been through dozens of those. The hurricanes, although not nearly as often, will really muck things up for a long time.
We haven't had a good one here in VA since IsabelPittsburgh Pirates- 1st place NL Central 7/15/11
They've got us surrounded? Good. Now we can fire in any direction, those bastards wont get away this time

well we are still alive and kickin...got alot of rain but the wind isn't even that bad so far...apparently the worst of it should hit in an hour or two...I may sleep right through it.

We got the 70 mph winds, not sure what the wind gusts reached. And of course we got rain bands. Tornadoes were spotted in places around us but fortunately we didn't witness any tornadoes near us. It did at times sound like some of the siding on the building was being blown off and we heard a lot of limbs crashing to the ground. There's a lot of debris in the yard but no damage to the beautiful Durango. :D
We lost power for several hours but thank God had power back on once we woke up. That is the worst thing about hurricanes to me, being without power for a long period of time sucks big time!
Going out later to assess any damage in the area.
The good news is we're all safe AND I cooked enough food before Hannah came ashore that I don't have to cook for the rest of the week ;).........................
