    Are these real police officers?

    Hi,

    Excuse me for being maybe a bit dumb but I just downloaded a peice of software from http://www.softscanner.net which claims it allows me to monitor real POLICE , FIRE, 911 depts and ATC LIVE.

    It seems to work, but am wondering is it for real or a con of some kind. How is this possible when I have no scanner or radio equipment with my PC.

    I am new to all this stuff, so excuse my ignorance.

    If the traffic is mostly boring to listen to it's probably real.
