    Question Alltel Cell Phone

I am looking into buying a cell phone on E-bay, but there are so many makes and models out there. I use Alltel and cannot upgrade my phone till October, but mine is barely working, dropped it too many times and my son got ahold of it.

I just need a simple cell phone, I don't use it for internet or texting and don't need bluetooth, (whatever that is). But I want a reliable phone that gets good reception.

Just looking for suggestions from other users on a decent cell phone that won't cost me a lot. Again it has to be a CDMA phone that uses Alltel.

    Thanks for any input.

I recently went through this with one of our daughters. The prepaid Alltel phones you can get at places like Walmart will work just fine, all you need to do is contact Alltel and give them the number of the old phone and the Electronic Serial Number of the new to swap out phones on the same line.

Have you looked at the alltell website to see what they are selling right now?

I have looked at Alltel's website, but they offer so many different phones. I would have to pay retail price if I bought from them, and can only get the discounted price if I sign a new 2 year contract, which again I cannot do until October. So I am just looking for a phone to get my by for awhile without signing a new contract and paying full price through Alltel. Thats why I was looking on E-bay but there are like over 2000 listings when I refine the search to carrier and type of phone.

Actually, the suggestion was so that you would know what to look for on Ebay.

Bluetooth is the little " ear thingy" that you see people wear now. They actually have their regular cell phone on them somewhere. There is a wireless signal that goes back and for between the earset and the cell that allows them to have " Star Trek " like communication.

I wouldn't be afraid to call Alltell and tell them that you are seriously considering switching to another company due to your phone issue. Ask them that if you can get a new phone , you will gladly sign up for another 2 years with Oct ___ as your start date. ( finishing out your old contract.)
