I was watching the finale of Last Comic Standing the other day and the winner from the last season had a bit about that. He said if the US were ever invaded, our secret weapon would kick their tails- Rednecks. He said that the marines would get there and all theyd find would be bodies, shotgun shells and empty beer cans.

I believe it was General Isoroku Yamamoto, in WWII, that actually advised against any type of invasion on the west coast because he had traveled the U.S. and was aware of all the private ownership of firearms. He had traveled, extensively, and knew the character of the American people. He knew they would not roll over, instead putting up a relentless fight from every doorway, window and alley.
