From what I understand (and I could be mistaken) in Dallas all they are allowed to do is follow... no bumping, no spike strips, no shooting out the tires (or the driver) no nothing. period. If the chase just won't end Dallas has to get the State Troopers to come out and do any of the above.

we have a pretty strict pursuit policy in the metroplex. i assure you there will be write-ups over that pursuit. interjurisdictional policy calls for no more than 2 cars from any one agency with 3 max.
according to the policy, you're not supposed to box, hit, or anything. spike strips are ok, but not used often. TxDPS is the only agency i know of in the urban area that's allowed to shoot out tires, but they aren't really authorized to join pursuits within the municipal loops - fort worth - loop 820, and dallas - loop 12/635. once it comes out of the loop, they'll be all over it.
