Well, that was interesting...
I was just trapped in a Barnes & Nobles during a tornado warning. We had one touch down a little south of there. After being in there (with no power) for about an hour, the monsoon rains finally slowed down.
I was able to make arrangements for the kidlets and wife to get a ride home with my buddy... but I got to rough it in my Jeep with the top off. It wasn't the rain that really bothered me, as I have already been caught in bad rain while having the top and doors off. It was the 3" or so of water, sloshing around in the floor-board that drove me insane! I started taking corners fast, just to dump some of it out. :D Also, for those of you that have not been in a similar situation, the windshield wipers are useless... as there is just as much rain on the INSIDE of the windshield as the outside. LOL
Finally, after driving about 5 miles north, I was able to find a gas station that had power. These new Jeeps do a far better job (than the older models) of hiding the drain plugs in the floor-boards. I got more than a few chuckles from passer-byes at the station as water poured from them... or maybe they were just laughing at the idiot out in a storm with the top and doors off his Jeep. :D
Either way, it made for an interesting night. I certainly have a date with the Armorall and Windex tomorrow morning.
Time to clean up... surely to be chased by a Sam Adams. :D
