    Apartment living with critters

After spending the morning with a roll of plastic and duct tape - I am ready to give up on this ol' trailer, and freezing to death and move to an apartment. What I have found is that in Iowa - they don't allow pets in apartments - unless you want to drop and EXTRA $500.00 deposit! I understand pets can cause damage, but so can kids and adults. My question is: What is it ilike where y ou live, are pets welcome? Extra deposit?

    Same thing.

Of course, I am somewhat considered a pet.

Anything exciting over on the east side?

Yeah now that I have animals I would not consider paying extra on already useless money towards an item I will not own. What about a condo Busty? At least that has equity.

In Las Vegas, it just depends on the complex. Most will require some form of deposit, usually around $200, but I have seen it cost much more. Most of the management where I have lived didn't care if you had a pet, even if a deposit was required; I've never paid one. But its not really worth getting evicted for anyway. When I had two cats, I only paid for one as to not cause to much suspicion.

I think these deposit rules are ridiculous, kids cause more damage then pets.

At least he isn't saying that sounds like his CURRENT girlfriend. THEN I would be worried.

There are different places around my county that allow pets. Rules vary, but I always went for the places that either allowed pets, or that only charged extra security for them. I wouldn't pay extra a month for them.
Now that I have the house, that point is moot. :D

They can't charge extra for kids ( even though they cause damage because people would yell ,scream and sue. But they can charge for pets. Some people with pets have houses that smell like a kennel. Renters are known for not exacty taking care of their "home".

That can be true but a kid won't gnaw through a wood door. Or chew the bottoms off of cabinets. Or chew a hole in carpet or rip up linoleum.

It's all in how responsible the owner is.

My last dog a boxer ate a tub of indigestion tablets about 100 or so and was quite fond of toilet paper.
My new dog also a boxer has eaten all my downstairs carpets, i now have wood flooring oh yes and a cage as well.
A snout has told me he's got a set of nostrils, so go and get a W so we can spin his drum to see if he's got any monkey gear - The Sweeney.

Any deposit other than the first and last month's rent is illegal here.
