Cement vs. Police Car

Bwaahaahaahaahaahaa!!!
Women drivers ;)
good one
We get a cop stuck in the sand on the beach at least once a year. And its usually the same cop. LOL
Its like he forgets that he can't drive around the back of these buildings. Every time we have to call a towtruck for him.
Stuck in the ...
Mud at a construction site one time, tow truck called.
Snow twice, shovelled myself out one time and the other time some nice guy in a 4 X 4 pulled me out.
NEVER did the wet concrete thing.![]()

Not in the cement ... but once I looked pretty bad ... as much as this for sure...
I pulled over a car for speeding in a rural area. It was around 20h00 and was retty dark outside...
I returned to the cruiser with the driver license of the intercepted guy. He did not have his registration and I stopped too close to see the plate number so I backed up a bit to take a look at the plate...
At the same time the HQ is sending a call and I advised them that I was on an interception...
In the mean time there was some problems with the ID of the driver and I had to go back to him to clarify stuff.
So I got out of my cruiser and walk to the driver doors...
He gave me the details I was missing then when I turned around to return to the patroll!!!!!!! Gone NO MORE...
I could'nt beleive it!!! Then I looked a bit further rigth and saw the flashing ligths in the ditch on the rigth side of the road..
The car was still in reverse when I walked out and left while I was talking to the driver... I did not hear a thing...
Did I look sumb?????
I let you guess...
I walked back to the car and the offender driver license and other paper where all down on the floor... I had to search for them and This guy was all embarassed telling how soorry he was that I found myself in that position!!!!
Hey gave him is paper and get the heck out of here.. (did not give him the speeding you know..)
Anyway... The car had absolutely no damage and a citizen passing by with a 4X4 truck just pulled me over with a rope..
Did not even have to tell my partners about it until recently...
I took the fifth... for a while...
Now we are all laughing about it but at the time ... I was soooooooo embarassed...
Luckily nothing bad happen ... If the cruiser would have had a dash board camera... you guys would have seen a fool Leo looking for his car.
We have a dept. policy that EVERY time you get out of the cruiser, the parking brake must be applied.
I have done what you described Coucousis but what happened was when I got back in the car, I realized that the car was still in Drive but was being held in place by the parking brake.
We replace approximately one parking brake cable per car per year. Cheap insurance.![]()

While telling this to my partner a few days a go... one of them told me that Charles(the rookie) wrote down a No Parking ticket and after putting it on the wiper... the owner of the car came out of a store near by... The kid got a bit nervous when the man approached and he let the brake go ... the cruiser ended up in the rear of the defendant car... Lucky enough ... NO DAMAGES....
Now the fun part is that the rookie is laughing at me big time at the break because of my little adventure .... But he did not know I knew about his... So revenge came so sweat....
He was embarassed for a second time when I revealed what I knew about his driving....

As for the parking brake policy... not a bad idea .... may be I should do my own parking brake policy...
But honestly I don't think it would have worked... My mind got disturbed by the radio... and I backed up to look at the plate... I don't know if I would have remember the parking brake....?
Got stuck in the sand once. But a good ole boy came and dragged me out. (saved me from the razzing)
I thought the same thing but it has come as second nature as putting my seat belt on. AND, I have been "saved" more than once as I got out of the car in a hurry only to realize later it was still in gear.
I don't put it on nicely. Just jam it to the floor and get out. On the CV it releases as you put the car in gear, on our Impalas, you just push down on the pedal and it pops out to release.

I got stuck in the mud once...I just requested a tow truck be sent to my location...which worked out Ok untill dispatch wanted a vehicle description, and without thinking I replied, uh, it's my patrol car.
Saweet!
Kinda like when you are a kid and your parents make you put your feet in the cement and then write you name...ahhh...LOL
On the evening news on night a couple years a go... There was a lady in this city got stuck in wet cement when she tried to drive around construction barrels. The news crew filming the "first day of construction" saw her and started filming. She looked real embarrased, and nervously asked the cameraman - "You're not gonna put that on the news, are you"?
"No, no..." :D

We have a city copper here who got stuck in wet cement while walking a foot beat! They had taken him out of a car and put him on a foot patrol because he had too many accidents. They thought he couldn't get into trouble this way. He had to put out a call for assistance to get him out of the cement.
Law abiding citizens sleep peacefully in their beds, solely because dedicated men and women stand ready to do violence in their behalf.
