It sounds like that guy would put his eye out with a pencil if you put him behind a desk. :D

When I get assigned to a new cruiser, I always spend $1.50 and get a spare key made which goes on my duty key ring. Not only is it impossible to lock myself out, I can let the car run at a crash scene etc and not be concerned about walking away from it. Plus, if I leave the overheads on and turn the motor off, I will be calling for a jump start.

I've never driven into concrete, but here's my median story. Me and another agent were called out on a highway stop one night about two in the morning after it had been raining all day. After we were done, we were looking for a place to turn around on the interstate. I was driving a Mustang 5.0 and it was a long ways to the next interchange.
Partner: Go ahead, you can make it.
Me: I don't know, it looks pretty muddy.
    Partner: You can make it.
Me: It's pretty late to be getting stuck.
Partner: I was a trooper for 7 years. Trust me. You can make it.

I turn into the median and the next thing was the headlights going out as they went under the mud and we came to an abrubt stop.

Partner: I really thought you were going to make it.

EH, he also took out a chandelier and another cops knee while deploying his baton (two seperate instances). A pencil is the only time he dosen't screw up. He does the mutt sketches for free and they usually look better than the mug shots. He charges other departments to do the drawings.

I e-mailed that pic to my Lieutenant friend. She said she had a trooper who backed up his cruiser and smashed into another patrol car. I told her that's something we should keep from civilians. :D

Also, I wish I had a pic of the Sheriff's department unit that all of a sudden was in flames leaving the deputies out in the middle of nowhere. Old vehicle, mechanical failure and poof!! Fried metal.

You guys ever get that feeling that there are some days better left unvisited???
