in my truck there is a crappy Sony tape deck/radio, radio doesent work, it looks like it was installed by a dumbass. getting a cd player(Alpine probly) and speakers for Xmas

well I'm getting a new car next week (kind of like an early xmas present for myself) and it is coming with the stock Harmon/Kardon CD-Navigation-DVD player. I can't wait to get it and try it out. I'm carless at this time....

Factory radios are great. Nobody ever steals them. ( Unless you have a beemer or Lexus)

My AM/FM cassette is great except the right speaker keeps cutting out. But on the next bump it come back on. SO , I just keep looking for bumps in the road.

That is what I do in my car mcsap, except it is the left front speaker, and if it shuts off, I litterally pound my fist into the dashboard around the area where the speaker is, and it comes back on.

Gotta love my car. 92 Plymouth Acclaim , hail damaged all over ( I saw it happen) , owned 4 yrs and havn't spent much on it, V6 gets about 21 mpg in town, has A/C , only 80K miles, wife won't drive it, is paid for, reasonably powered and was never hooked up to a tow truck.

What more could I ask for?

I have a 15 year old Pioneer CD player in my 93 Toyota truck. The display doesn't work anymore but I know what my pre-set stations are so I'll still keep it for awhile.

Actually it's 13 years old. But car CD players have been around awhile.

I have a portable Panasonic CD/MP3 player with an attachement that plugs into the cassette player so I carry it back and forth between my work and personal vehicles. You can put a LOT of songs on one CD in MP3 format.

By the way if it is stolen or even riped out of my car...it no longer works.
