I'll be gone for awhile

just thought i would let everyone know that i'll probably be off the boards for a little bit. i'm actually on vacation and had planned to do some hunting as well as go to missiouri and go duck hunting first week of decemeber (i'm off work until like dec 8th, hehe). this plan of course has taken murphys law and beat my *** with it. i've been trying to get over a "chest cold" for the past two weeks, and i've also been losing my voice. well wed. night my throat was hurting so bad i got like 2 hours sleep and decided that i would go to work and then the doc on thurs. of course it didnt work out that way!! called in sick to work that morning after getting dressed and realizing that i was putting myself and others in danger if something were to break loose considiering the way i felt. went to the doc and got the wonderful news!! i've got a sinus infection, two ear infections, and laryngitis (sp)!! he said my voice going away was a sign that i needed to be checked out. last night i had my friend take me to the er at around 2 am, my "punching bag" in the back of my throat was swollen really bad!! the doc says 5-6 times its normal size, it was gagging me to breathe, open my mouth, and talk. so now i cant talk, cant swallow, cant breathe, cant hear, lol and anything else in between it seems. they gave me some sort of ubershot of antibiotics and the doc says my "punching bag" will be swollen like this for at least 2 days!! wonderful. i've been talking with my wife by writing on a pad of paper, sleeping on the couch so the baby dont get sick, and trying not to swallow my tongue!! lol anyway, because of everything that s happened here recently, i didnt want anyone to think i was MIA. you guys keep me posted on any "new" events now!! lol, anyway, i'm gonna go back to sleep now., see ya!:bye:

WOW!:( i know a couple of people with a sinus infection right now. that's too bad-sorry to hear that.

Get a lot of pillows, two or three days on the couch demands pillows ! If you can't swallow or talk you can still TYPE
Take it easy so you can go hunting. Don't want to get the ducks spooked with coughing and sneezing fits !

See that is just like a man to wait until the problem is at its worst before going to the doctor ;) On the other hand you could be a hypocondriac (sp) like me...

I am sorry you are not feeling well, I have had all those infections lots of times, they suck, but I hope get some rest and get better soon.
