    Paris has no beaches, the city is in the middle of the country. Or do you think about the river boundaries (lot of mud and dirty it is also)????

    Nice is a pretty nice city but expensive at all. There are better cities at the french riviera coast, like Juan Les Pins and the towns around. But, expensive as I said.

    I've used the "Let's Go" series of travel books for some great room rates. It's written by students, so the focus is on B&B's, residential hotels and hostels.

    I stayed in a very nice residential hotel near Kensington when I was there years ago - the rate was very reasonable for the times. It's the kind of place people stay at when they are on business, so there isn't a restaurant, or the usual "maid service."
